Bride and Groom Bride, Groom, flower girls

Sophia and Josh decided to get married, with the advice of Sophia's grandmother, on the volcanic island of Santorini. Of all the decisions we made pertaining to our wedding, that was by far the best one. We, and our guests as well, loved Santorini and all it had to offer--black sand beaches, wineries, hiking on the volcano, and of course the exceptional sunsets. The wedding took place at the restaurant Selene on June 24, 2003 at sunset with 30 guests. Josh's groomsmen were Greg Holick and Jimmy Bates and Sophia's bridesmaid was her sister Christina. The flower girls were Sophia's cousins Eleni and Alexandra. We have to mention our wedding planner, Lila Konstantinidis, from Heliotopos Hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed working with her and highly recommend her to anyone wanting to have a destination wedding in Santorini.

Our honeymoon started in Ia, Santorini, then moved to Mykonos, and ended in Naxos. We had the most amazing time and loved what each island had to offer. Of course, our favorite was Santorini and we look forward to returning there in Sept of 2005.

Reception Reception

We also had a reception in Boulder, Colorado one month after the wedding so that all our friends and family could join us in celebrating our marriage. The reception took place on the tree plaza of the National Center for Atmospheric Research, located in the Rocky Mountains overlooking Boulder and Denver. Although the skies threatened rain, all our guests got was a terrific lightning show over the plains instead. The menu was a Greek buffet with authentic recipes provided by Sophia's mother.

Of course, all the wedding related pictures can be found in Our Wedding Photo Album. There you can see our engagement pictures, shots from the bridal shower Christina and Merrilee hosted, bachelor and bachelorette party photos, as well as wedding and honeymoon pictures.
